Unable to access ReadyNas :(

Hi all

Ready hoping somebody can help with this as I'm completly stuck :-(

Had my Readynas a few years now from initial setup so cant remember everything i did at the begining.

I've moved house, different internet provider and router and can no longer access my readynas.

I've tried using raidar which detects my readynas but i cant access the admin page

(your netgear storage is not accessible from this computer, please check your network settings)

I'm thinking this might be because the nas is wired into the network and my laptop is on wifi?

Unfortunatly my mac doesnt have the ability to test this theory as theres no option to hard wire it (wifi only)

No idea how to get access to my ReadyNas again... can anyone please help?

Many thanks

This probably means you set a static I.P. on your ReadyNAS and the new router is using a different range. You can either do an OS Re-install (a boot menu option that resets some network settings such as relevant ones for this problem) or temporarily set your PC to use the same range as the NAS, login to the NAS, change it's settings (don't forget to save/apply them) and then change the settings back on your PC.

I use my Mac laptop on Wi-Fi all the time to access my NAS and it works fine. If it does work on Ethernet but not on Wi-Fi then either your router has poor software or your router or NAS or laptop is configured incorrectly.

That's incorrect. If you really want to test this you can get a dongle for it, whether it's USB-A, Thunderbolt or USB-C depending on what model Mac laptop you have. I regularly use Thunderbolt to ethernet adapters.

  • Thanks for the assistance

I've gone for the OS reinstall but the instructions don't appear to be working
  • Brilliant thank you, back up and running

    Many thanks :)
