Unable to create new shares after adding a new HDD to NAS

Hi all

I have a readynas 204 that previously had 2 x 2 tb HDD in JBOD configuration and everything was working fine.  I then added a 4 tb HDD into the 3rd slot, also in JBOD configuration.  It was recognized and formatted as a volume.  However, now when I try to create a new share (on ANY of the drives, not just the newly added 4 tb drive) I get an error message:

"folder operation failed

Could not add share due to configuration update failure.

Code: 1013030001

Datetime: 07:55:59 02/28/2017"

After getting this error, I rebooted a couple of times and then also updated the firmware to 6.6.1 and I still can't create any new shares.

Any ideas?

  • Just a follow up, I even tried removing the new 4 tb HDD and I still cant perform any folder operations on the previous drives.  For example, I tried to change some of the permission for existing Shares and I get the error: "Folder operation failed.  1000030001  Commit failed"

You likely need support's help.  You could PMing mdgm and asking him to review the log zip.  Use the messages link in the upper right.
