To delete the snapshots, you use the web interface.
Select the backup share, then click on the "recovery mode" icon. You will then see a lot of date-stamped folders. You can select them one at a time chose "delete".
Chrome lets you delete them in bulk, but unfortunately the current version (34) doesn't work with OS 6.1.7 due to an XML parsing bug in Chrome.
