Updated Surveillance for Ultra 6
Hello - I have an Ultra 6 with the Surveillance app installed. I now found there is an required update but if I select the x86 addon surveillance_1.4.2-3_amd64.deb and try to install it, my Ultra 6 ...

The surveillance app ought to be on http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24551 but the link is broken.

Thanks. I'll look for it once it's fixed.
Also, I have another problem. I changed computers, and now if I use the old Survellience (1.3.2.4) to do palyback, I get a popup that says "Can't load file: "blah\Appdata\Roaming\NUUO\ISSres/images/Playback/OsdText.bmp". I'm assuming I need to reinstall a Surveillance package on my new PC that takes care of that? If yes, which one?
Thanks,
Tony

The 1.3.2.4 add-on is available here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/RNNVR01L-1000S.aspx#download
However you are already running that.

I think he is looking to get the security fix announced here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30275/~/readynas-surveillance%3A-security-vulnerability-announcement?cid=wmt_netgear_organic
Does this vulnerability extend to OS 4.2? If so, are there plans to fix it on that platform?

I believe there are no plans to fix it for RAIDiator-x86 4.2.x unfortunately.

Is there a way to check with Netgear about this? I paid a lot of money for those Ultra 6 NAS devices (I have 2, although only 1 is used for surveillance), and would like to continue to use them. BTW, both of mine are updated to 4.2.28.
For the security problem with the Surveillance app, what specifically is the problem? Is it something that could be fixed with just a change to one of the Linux kernel modules? If true, maybe the fix is not too difficult to do. Or with a script, I might be able to do it myself without bricking the device.
Thanks,
Tony
