Upgrade firmware
Hello,
Recently the new firmware for the readynas duo v2 was released.
Today I wanted to update using dashboard.
Sadly when accessing the dashboard it doesn't get further than the loadingpage.
I'm wondering is there a way to do a firmware update without using the dasboard or are there other ways to fix this?

- Have you tried a different browser?
I would ensure that you have a backup then do an OS reinstall using the boot menu.
There is no safe way to do a firmware upgrade without access to the dashboard. - If you are using IE, try putting the browser in compatibility mode.
- I'm having a similar issue; when I open the dashboard all I get is gibberish. I've followed the directions for reinstalling the OS and I think it worked but I'm not sure. I tried to open it in IE with compatibility mode but that didn't help. So at this point I'm not sure how to access the NAS and upgrade the firmware. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

If you do have a v2 (and are the original purchaser) then you should probably contact support via email (support.netgear.com). All v2 units are still covered by the Netgear's warranty. Ferdi wrote: Hello,

You know, the exact same thing happened to me when I was upgrading my NAS Duo V2 firmware from 5.3.8 to 5.3.9, btw my browser is Opera 12.16, and all I did was close down my browser.
About 45 minutes later I got a "System Update Status" email from my NAS with the following message:Your ReadyNAS device has been updated with a new firmware image. (RAIDiator-arm-5.3.9)
You see, I got no indication from my browser that anything was happening and, to tell you the truth, I thought something had gone wrong so I decided to try again letter, but as I said above I got the System Update email.
It seems that someone at Netgear forgot to include an advisory message with the update.
