Upgrade single drive in Readynas Duo

Hi, I had one single hard drive with 500gb in Readynas duo, as a media center, so I dont have the second hd. Now I put a second hard drive with 2t and the disk was syncronized. It shows 2 disks with 500 Gb. Now I removed the first disk with 500 gb. But I can see a way to expand the usage limit to 2 Tb. Note that at this moment I have only one disk. I read that if I put a second Hd with 2 Tb inthe other slot, the size will increase, but I dont need this redundancy. The slot without disk is in yellow and indicating as dead. Any ideas?

The NAS won't expand with only one disk installed.

I think you will need to backup up the data and do a factory reset with the 2 TB drive in place. Then reinstall add-ons, reconfigure, and restore data from backup.
