Upgrading from 3x1 TB to 3x2 TB NG NV+ v1.0
Hi, I am quite happy with my NV+ v1. Currently it has 3 x 1TB drives installed in bays 1-3. I want to replace the 1TB Drives with 3 x 2TB drives. I understand that I can put a new 2 TB drive in slo...

You should be able to copy the Iomega data to the ReadyNAS using Frontview to schedule a backup job.
That also works for backing up the ReadyNAS. The main question there is whether you want to use USB drives[s] or if you have enough space on your PCs and the Iomega to copy stuff over over the network. Since the ReadyNAS is only used for backup, you could decide to skip that step, since you could start fresh with a new time machine image.
BTW, when did you get your NV+? If you weren't running 4.1.7 or later when you purchased it, you might want to do a factory reset instead of the resyncing. This will wipe your data, so the backup would be essential. The issue here is that the older firmware didn't use 4K sector alignment, which is needed for best performance with 2 TB drives. If you are still running < 4.1.7, you would want to update your firmware with the old drives installed, and then do the reset.

As the article above indicates, doing a factory reset with your new 2TB drives would also be faster than resyncing 3 times.

Sounds like you will need an ongoing backup strategy then, otherwise the data is vulnerable. You can keep the Iomega up and running, and use it for a backup device for the most critical data. Or use USB drives of course. Either way, Frontview backup jobs can be scheduled, so they run automatically

What is the best way to achieve that task, and verify the files as they go - My wife would be <beep> if I lost her photos....
