Used ReadyNAS 314 - Mainboard RMA

I apologize but the warranty will only be given to the registered owner of the unit who purchased the product from authorized a reseller. Pre-owned/2nd hand units do not have warranty as they are considered as refurbished units.
NETGEAR does not sell any internal components of ReadyNAS chassis not only that it will void the warranty of the product but also it is beyond support of NETGEAR. If you want to open the NAS and replace its components, there maybe a chance from members of the community to answer you here but it may take a while.

How did you boot the NAS into windows??? I'm thinking the previous owner might have made some other mods.
You could try removing the disks (labeling by slot) and inserting an unformatted test disk. The NAS should make clean install, which might resolve the problem (worth a try anyway).
