VMware ESXi4.1 ISCSI Readynas 3200 - need more...
I have what would be considered average and expected performance with our HP DL360 G7 ESXi 4.1u2 servers using ISCSI to connect to our ReadyNAS 3200 (4.2.19) in RAID10.
Running Crystal Disk Mark v.3 in my Win2k8 VMs, I see about 100MBytes/sec reads and writes to the C: Drive (over the ISCSI), which makes sense.
The ReadyNAS 3200 has 2 nics, one for Iscsi and one for LAN access for management.
If I have 100MBytes/s of data throughput, I am getting about 800 Mbit/s of bandwidth through the single ISCSI port. About 80%.
How can I increase this ISCSI throughput?
Can I bind both NICs to be used in ISCSI? If so, how do I manage the ReadyNAS?
Can I get an additional NIC card? I found this: RN12P2GE. Can I use both of these extra ports to increase my ISCSI throughput?
Can I use all 4 ports?

- chirpaLuminaryYou can add an additional (2) 1Gbe ports with an add-on card. (viewtopic.php?p=185200#p185200)
Does your switch support LACP or other teaming/bonding modes? You can bond the NICs together to obtain a higher throughput. You can use iSCSI and web management on the same NICs, don't need one NIC dedicated to management.
