I am too clueless to know the distinction - but I amended my OP from "firmware" to "BIOS" - in light of the log name below.
Whichever it is, I am pretty sure that it is not whatever it is that goes by "RAIDiator 4.2.15".
Instead it is something that is named in Status | Logs | Download All Logs | bios_ver.log as "05/26/2010 FLAME6-2 V1.1"
