Which Readynas
Hi there, Just a quick question, which is the best readynas to buy which supports 3tb hard drives I would prefer the cheapest option. I was looking ath the NV + but Amazon seem to be selling the N...

Hi Paul,
Thanks. Unfortunately, you can't migrate the disks from the old Duo to the new Ultra and have it *just work*. The Ultra and Duo have different hardware architectures (x86 vs. Sparc) and therefore different operating systems.
If you wish to use the drives from the Duo, you'll need to:
1. Back up Duo to external USB
2. Remove disks from Duo
3. Delete any/all partitions from disks or insert into Ultra and force factory default via reset button.
4. Configure Ultra (users, shares, permissions, etc.)
5. Restore data.
Otherwise, I'd recommend picking up a couple more drives and keep the Duo as a backup unit. 8)
