I've seen several postings saying that there are issues if the computer hostname matches one of the share names. I'm not sure if changing the login credential helps that or not (since the hostname is still the same). I've never seen this particular problem, though I do have a couple of shares that match computer host names in my Pro.

On the username, it should only matter if it is known by the Nas. For instance, "admin" is problematic. On some windows systems, even if you enter the admin credential into the credentials manager, Windows will still not always supply the right password if the Windows logon is also admin. I have that issue with a Vista machine. Every time I restart the desktop, I need to enter the admin password for the NAS the first time I access it. After that, it is ok (until the next restart).
You can also get into trouble if you have a public share with the same name as a user (who has a private share on the NAS). The problem there is that the public and private shares have a name conflict.
