Write Speed ReadyNAS 102
Hello
I have had a search through the forum and online and feel I have a speed issue but not sure what to do next. I thought it might be my router so I have connected my MacBook directly to the ReadyNAS and I am getting 16.8608640 Mbps (Megabits) write and 622.8530800 Mbps (Megabits) read. The read seems fine to me and more than fast enough but the write seems a little low (It is causing problems when trying to use the NAS)
Please could you help me try and troubleshoot this as I am now a bit lost as to what I should try next.
Many Thanks
Ashley

Have you checked the SMART stats on the two disks?
Write speed should be about 50 MB/s (~400 mbits) btw. - ashley8bitAspirantI am using Lan Speed Test to measure the speed.
Please advise how I check the SMART stats?
Thanks. - StephenBGuru - Experienced Userdownload the logs and look at disk_info.log

Does anything here seem like a cause for concern? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserThese numbers look fine.
BTW, I edited out the serial numbers.
How full is the disk?
Are you testing from Windows? If so, try NasTester (http://www.808.dk/?code-csharp-nas-performance) - ashley8bitAspirantHello the drives are about half full. this has been the speed since the beginning. All testing has been done in a Mac OS X environment as my Windows machine is rather old and I've had a pig of a time trying to get it to work in Windows.
Any other ideas or do you think it's a call to tech support?
thanks for removing the serial numbers by the way :) - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserContacting support is reasonable.
I'd also try manually timing the transfer of a large file to see how that number compares with lan speedtest.
Also, try testing both smb and afp. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen did you purchase the 102? If over 90 days ago you should open an online case. Basic phone support is free for the first 90 days after purchase.
