Disabling Leds on EX3700 / EX3800 / EX3920

Dear Developers,

I would to request if possible, on future firmware updates, an option to disable leds when the repeater is working, mainly because these products are used for home use, and I used it on my bedroom, leaving the annoying lights on all night time long leaving no change that to plug out of the socket, which get discomfort.

Also on WIFI schedule, is true that WIFI network is disabled but not SSDI transmit, leaving the SSDID on but no internet, is it possible somehow to disable also SSDI?

Thanks

Ref. WiFi schedule: As the Wifi Extender UI says: It's a WiFi Access Schedule, not a radio scheduler. A radio scheduler on a network infrastructure device is not very practical, as bringing the radio up - especially on the mandatory DFS 5 GHz bands - can cause a major delay to availability, up to 10 minutes. One could consider taking down the SSID on the AP side, however the extender should - in my opinion - keep the network connection to the master router resp. the mesh up 24*7. Ok, not a secret, I'm not the one wearing aluminum hats - my WiFi is always up 24*7 because lots of tasks and jobs on portable and even on mobile devices happen over night, like data and App backups.

However, I fully agree with the option to disable at least some of the LED for certain environments. But then I also know that this will cause confusion. Was just asked by a customer why the new wireless infrastructure is not operational thee days. Of course it is - all LED (except of the power) - are disabled on the WAC.

  • schumaku,

    Thanks for the reply,

I think the main goal for these products are often home users, giving the price range, and product specs.

Of course blinking or always on Leds lights on an office environment doesn’t annoy anyone, but on a bedroom, and close to it, or for those who have pets, not my case, but those lights can attract animals to try to bit or smash the wireless repeater, disabling all lights can “fix” lots of issues, more of comfort and prevention of miscellaneous issues.

I have seen on other products of NETGEAR, of course I mean top tiers or flagship products, it has an option on the firmware,  to address this issue.

If possible, it would be awesome , if it could be ported to these repeaters.

    Thanks once again
