I was wondering if router could be updatable, green and made it yours self?
I'll explain,
the device could be like a PC.
Case
Power converter
Core router
DSL or cable option
antennas
PLC module
If one part fails there is only one part to change.
Or if there is and hardware that evolve just change it.
It could be interesting!!

It's time sometimes to think outside the box! Otherwise what is the goal to develop new products and we should go back to 286 computers and dial up modem and toss our smartphones!
