Apple has partnered with multiple manufacturers to bring Homekit management to routers, considering Orbi hardware is sold directly through the Apple store, it seems kind of strange that Netgear has not hopped on this bandwagon. This feature would be extremely useful for Homekit users with Orbi systems.

Please add HomeKit router support to Orbi systems. I've been contemplating switching to eero or velop for this specific feature. This is right in line with orbi type features that enable simple to set up features for people who aren't interested in learning complex networking
Do it! HomeKit is a must in my home. I want to upgrade Orbi, but would totally consider Eero Pro with HomeKit.

Hey Netgear! Listen to your users... we want Apple HomeKit secure routers! Netgear charges exhorbitant prices for the Orbi RBK852.. I could justify spending $700 USD (plus taxes) if you included HomeKit functionality. Netgear's Arlo Baby cam has HomeKit... and your competitors (Eero and Linksys) offer HomeKit router solutions; why isn't Netgear? #AdvancedFeatures #Features #Firmware #CyberSecurity #Security

I believe Netgear is already an Apple HomeKit licensed developer since they have added HomeKit Secure Video to their Arlo devices. Apple stopped requiring chip authentication in 2017 and it can now be done with software. Basically Apple gave up a licensing fee to encourage more manufacturers adaptation of HomeKit. My speculation: This means that if Netgear chooses to not add HomeKit Secure Router as a firmware update to the Orbi platform is because it would financially undercut the armor and circle services they want you to pay for. Linksys and Eero are good competitors that offer HomeKit Secure Router and if you are interested in that feature I would suggest determining how long you are willing to wait for Netgear to make a clear announcement/response before moving to the competition.

I was honestly surprised to see that even the flagship AX6000 does not have this support. I would very much hope to see this fixed in a firmware update soon.

Ouch! No homekit support for Orbi??? Or any product from Netgear? Rethinking my support for recent orbi and modem purchase.

Considering the processing power contained in each orbi I'm very surprised they haven't already got HomeKit compatibility. Even if it can't be upgraded in software, I'd replace all my Orbis for a new version with HomeKit or a competitor product that already offers it but would prefer to stick with Orbi unless it can't be made to work with HomeKit.

We definitely need this ASAP!
This idea exchange forum is a joke. Netgear has just been leading us on with the false hope that they actually will listen to their customers.
If you don't plan on adding the feature, please just let us know rather than keeping us in the dark.
