MK62 — Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 System Needs a way to seperate between 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz

MK62 — Nighthawk is in need of a way to seperate 2.4 Ghz/5.0 Ghz. So many devices in my house only take 2.4Ghz and are being used without the internet currently. For a router/mesh system which costs this much, you would think this would come as an option, but nope! we are having to create "ideas" for netgear for this to become possible.

This is widely discussed elsewhere and stems from a basic misunderstanding of how IoT stuff works. If it can't connect to 5 GHz, it won't see 5 GHz.

It isn't even a new idea:

Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 system needs separate 2.4 an... - NETGEAR Communities

The problem comes when someone tries to set up a 2.4 GHz device with a poorly written setup app that can't handle a 5 GHz connection.

It isn't that the Orbi needs separate SSIDs but that the IoT app needs go be written by people who know what they are doing and how customers work.

For some devices, it is simply a case of disabling the SSID broadcast for the 5 GHz wifi.
