Other mesh networks such as Eero and soon Luma support hard wiring your sattelites. I think its extremely important Netgear Orbi does the same. Especially for those of us who can.

Yes! Please add this capability to orbi!

Just like you I have seen many good ideas just over looked and many releases of firmware that does not help or even does more harm Netgear needs to turn the autopilot off and start running the ship on course before they hit the rocks. The bottom dollar is the also the best to have if the rest of the money is wasted on other things.

I been waiting for my Orbi to get better just haven’t seen much movement from netgear. I am already looking at prices for the linksys velop. Just sharing I know my decision makes no difference to netgear since they got a huge amount of money from me already. Not saying I will avoid netgear in the future but I am not impressed with the speed at which the orbi is improved or patched especially at the price I paid. I lose connection through out the day on my nest cameras and on many other devices and somehow items on my direct router WiFi never have that issue. Riddle me that. Good luck I hope your next mesh system is improved.

If they move the power supply to a internal design they could use the same power cord to link the units together without any need a of lan cable or wifi link let the wiring in the home do the job Netgear has power lan adaptors build one into each Orbi problem solved and would let them add a second 5ghz band as well.
Before you say it I know Apple uses just a normal power cord to power its units but still a good idea. Just have to shield the power supply rf noise from the router but can be done with a cage around the power supply and still allow air flow.

- morallydubiousOnlooker"I stall believe that the only way you going to have everthing you want from the postings is for Netgear to release a new Orbi V2 series" Correct, it's why I'm not buying till then :-)

I stall believe that the only way you going to have everthing you want from the postings is for Netgear to release a new Orbi V2 series with two 5ghz bands for the users, a wired backhaul, and other upgrades to cpu power and speed along with its memory to handle all the features the hardware has to support it too.
Add me to the camp for wired backhaul, plus, making the 3rd band, the second 5ghtz band, currently used for backhaul available to the users?! Meaning, if I want my own dedicated 5g radio for my stuff, the wife and kids can share the other bands!!! LOL, just kiding about that, but maybe not...
So, what I'm saying is, listen to teh communicaty and pay a little over time to make this a reality!!! Please.
See I asked nicely...

Our ranch style, rectangle house would benefit tremendously from Ethernet backhaul to maximize our gigabit fiber connection. Please consider implementing this feature soon. While I've tried moving my devices around, I have yet to have a full day of flawless coverage from the Orbi. Most days my iPhone 7 shows a connection to the network and warns I don't have an internet connection.
