How do I block hostnames? WAX202

Firmware Version V1.0.5.1

I'm trying to block a series of servers at the router level.  I have a list of hostnames but I can't figure out if the router has the option to block them?  I go to block services, but the hostnames don't fit in the "service type/user defined" field.  Is this even an option?  Thanks

Describe your idea a little bit better please.

In general, firewalls can block IP addresses, but not hostnames or FQDNs.

so for example one server I want to stop network traffic from pinging has a hostname like fus01.xxx.update.xxxxxxxxx.net  - and it doesn't fit in the character limit of the block services page service type field.  I have like a bunch of similar addresses I want to block network traffic to.

This would be a DNS query done from your LAN (to get the IP address[es]) resolving to one IP or a list of IP addresses. Not much you could to on the average home or SMB router alone.

Where a dedicated local DNS server is available, you can blacklist the host names in question and return a non-existing LAN IP address and device on your network  Deploying foe example a Pi-hole as your network DNS server does allow this for example.
