C6300 wifi drops after ICMP attack
Bought this router last August, since a couple of weeks my wireless drops after I've been attacked. I can clearly connect both events as the affect is immediate, after a restart of the router wireless is back in order until the next attack, which can happen multiple times a day. Pretty annoying to say at least, my internet connection is not affected, as all wired connections remain active after the attack only my 2.4ghz SSID/access point is down (I deactivated my 5ghz and don't use it).. FYI - I factory reset the router but as the router is receiving the same WAN address from Comcast/Xfinity it doesn't make any difference.. any thoughts or ways to configure the router to withstand the attacks and not shutting down my wireless ?
Here some more details:
Hardware Version V3.0
Firmware Version 2.01.14
Provider: Comcast Xfinity
Type of attack: [DoS attack] ICMP flood from

Re: C6300 wifi drops after ICMP attack
For certain, no consuner grade router will stop a DoS attack. Sounds like it's a bandwidth attack. The router will usually reboot, or hang. Check with your ISP, maybe thay can block those sunbets before they get to you. Check you network devices (phones / laptops / desktops), for any malware or viruses. DoS attacks can start on the host side of the network.
