C7800 - Speed Tests All Over The Place - WOW Communications
I have noticed connection issues for quite some time. We had a hurricane and our area was rebuilt from the ground up. I also had them run a line from the pole to the side of my townhome, underneath the sidewalk, and they drilled a hole into my living room and ran the line direct to the modem. After having issues for some time they came out and put a splitter before the Nighthawk, which helped slightly.
Everything gradually got better over time until this past Saturday - we have tanked again.
Hulu/Youtube/Netflix all buffering
ISP: Wow Communications
Plan: 1Gig
Speed Tests vary so much I don't know what to believe.
fast.com - 82mbps
speedtest.net - 43mbps
wowway.speedtestcustom.com - 742mbps
speedof.me - 2.98mbps
google fiber speed test - 98.9mbps
So WOW says it's not their problem because their website's speedtest is most accurate.
The Eero system they provide normally shows 880mbps and when the issue started it was reporting 110mbps. This morning it went back up to 600mbps and seems to be getting slightly better. WOW is blaming the modem/router and says there is nothing wrong.
I work from home and we have a speed test calculator that is very accurate. It is reporting 22mbps for my machine. When on my work VPN it tanks to 3mbps, which is not enough for me to function.
Here is my event log from when I noticed the issue until today - prior to this there is nothing for a week, and I did have some issues last week:
