CG3000Dv2 wrong time, NTP missing in GUI
Hi There,
Recently my CG3000Dv2 router firmware upgraded. Comcast is my ISP. Now I have intermittent issues. While chekcing the modem time shows 1 hour lag behind the network time. The last firmware worked perfectly for 2 years & that was haing NTP server options. Now this firmware doesnot have that. Please suggest how to correct the time and fix the intermittent issue.
Event logs show error like below.

Re: CG3000Dv2 wrong time, NTP missing in GUI
Those log messages have nothing to do with NTP. Instead, they are related to the Internet connection coming through your coax cable. You may want to contact Comcast and ask them to check the line.

Re: CG3000Dv2 wrong time, NTP missing in GUI
It is certainly related to NTP. And why the modem/router cant sync up with the Network time? Its always 1 hour behind the correct time.

Re: CG3000Dv2 wrong time, NTP missing in GUI
Those log messages are most certainly not related to NTP. They concern DOCSIS link management. See Section 7 (page 159) of the DOCSIS specification (link) which talks about timing and synchronization of the MAC protocol for a cable network.
As to why the modem/router doesn't have the correct time, did you set the time zone?

Re: CG3000Dv2 wrong time, NTP missing in GUI
Unfortunately, I don't see a setting for it, either. You could try performing a factory reset. Sometimes, a firmware update is incompatible with the configuration settings of the previous version. The reset may restore the NTP settings.

Re: CG3000Dv2 wrong time, NTP missing in GUI
I tried with factory reset. But it did not bring back the earlier firmware. The current firmware is V3.01.06 & its purly buggy. The wireless is getting disconnected frequently & internet is also unstable. Please suggest me how to go back to the original firmware which came with the device?
Thanks in advance.

Hello gdash
Are you able to provide some screenshots of your event log page and the cable connection page so I can send this over to our engineers to investigate the issues. and when you talk about intermitten tissues are you talking with the Wifi or with the internet or with both?

Re: CG3000Dv2 wrong time, NTP missing in GUI
Hello Darren,
I have attached the screenshots of the cable connection page & event log page. When I say intermittent issue, that means wireless as well as wired connections are having problem. But most frequent is my wifi.

Re: CG3000Dv2 wrong time, NTP missing in GUI
Hello gdash
No updates yet but as for the T3 time out error that is a issue with the modem not communicating with the cable connection may want to contact your ISP about that issue if your getting alot of those. I also linked a article talking about those timeouts.

Re: CG3000Dv2 wrong time, NTP missing in GUI
Are you talking about the Resetting the cable modem due to docsDevResetNow message? That appears to be a command sent by the ISP to reset your modem. If you are seeing that frequently, then you should definitely talk to your ISP about that.
The interference message concerns Wi-Fi channel selection. You router has the Wi-Fi channel set to Auto. You can change the channel setting to a single channel number. There are tools you can use to pick the least congested channel. Netgear's Desktop version of the Genie program has tool (link). Or you can use Vistumbler (link) or Acrylic Wi-Fi (link).

Re: CG3000Dv2 wrong time, NTP missing in GUI
I am having the exact same issue with my Netgear n450 modem. I have been using for over a year with no problems and then noticed the firmware update earlier this month and now it locks up and does not let any traffic to pass until I reboot it. The wifi SSID stil shows, it just does not let any device connect. (wired or wifi)
