CM500
I am replacing an existing much older cable modem and wifi router. Instructions for cm500 set up say to connect directly to my computer. Computer is a desktop some distance away from location of cable modem. Will installation still work if I replace old modem with CM500 (ie hookup to both cable connection and old wifi router) install new cm500 modem and then proceed to replace old wifi router with new one? Or do I really need to lug desktop over to modem?
Thanks

If you use Router, please make sure to use your ISP DNS servers as otherwise activation may not work.
Also, self-activation may not work perfectly and you have to call ISP to activate.
Connecting your PC directly to Modem avoids all the settings issues and thats why it is recommended but it does not mean it wont work with WIFI router.
