Configure Nighthawk CM2050V with GS305EP switch and 3 WAX610 wireless access points
I plan on replacing my rented Xfinity cable modem with a Nighthawk CM2050V. Since the CM2050V doesn't have a wifi router built in, do I need to purchase a wifi router or a regular router to work with the GS305EP Switch and my WAX610 access points? If so, what router or wifi router is recommended? Thanks.

Yes.
Something that is supporitng of yoru ISP service speed. If you have 1Gb ISP service speed, any RAX series router will work good. IF you have more than 1Gb ISP service speed which the CM series modem supports up to 2.5Gb, then you might consider a router that has support for those speeds on the WAN and LAN side if you have the need. RAXE500 or RS700 when it comes out.

Yes, something router. You don't have to have a wireless router combo, a wired only router will work.
NG used to have router only models. I think they moved to firewall appliaces that would work for you as well if you don't want a wireless combo unit. Only other wired only router I know of is the Ubiquity Edge Router X mode.
