Need compatible modem/gateway

I currently have an Xfinity Arris model TG862G/CT Wireless Gateway (802.11b/g/n GigaPort x 4 Port Router w/ 2-Voice Lines) and a Nighthawk AC5300 - TriBand Wifi Router (Model R8500).  

 

The Xfinity Arris model TG862G/CT Wireless Gateway (802.11b/g/n GigaPort x 4 Port Router w/ 2-Voice Lines) no longer works and needs to be replaced.  What cable modem/gateway, offering the same or better services, is compatible with the Nighthawk AC5300?

    Before you spend money check with your ISP, on what modems they sanction, then go from there..

    I would look into the CM1000 or the CM700. Both should work with Comcast and are great paired with the R8500, but as the other user said - make sure to contact them first to make sure, along with finding out the approved speeds for each of them.

     

    Make sure that you get the modem provisioned by your ISP when you set it up.
