Nighthawk AC1900 remote access doesn't connect

I have successfully set up my modem for a while now and have no issues using the Android app to manage the Router locally. However, I recently logged into the local web interface to turn on the remote access functions of the router to manage while away. It shows that was successful. I screen copied the IP and port info from the web interface but it will still not communicate with the router outside of the local network. I have tried several different browsers to access it and the Android app doesn't show any choice for remote management. Any pointers you can offer out there?
Thanks

Re: Nighthawk AC1900 remote access doesn't connect
What model modem do you have? C####
NG has removed web page remote access from most of there products due to security concerns. Only way to access products is thru NGs mobile apps like Nighthawk or Orbi apps?

Nighthawk app you can access remotely with Anywhere Access for limited monitoring and changes.

Re: Nighthawk AC1900 remote access doesn't connect
I have the Nighthawk App on my phone but there is nothing there about remote access like I've found in the manual or KB search. My app version is 2.42.1.4373

Under settings in the app, do you see Anywhere Access?

Re: Nighthawk AC1900 remote access doesn't connect
What is odd to me is my app seems to be a newer version that what is listed as the "latest" version on the NG site.
The latest version of the NETGEAR Nighthawk app for Android is 2.42.0.4260, released on October 12, 2024.
my version is 2.42.1.4373 running on a Google Pixel Android

Re: Nighthawk AC1900 remote access doesn't connect
I see there is a released version on Dec 24th. And seems to be that same version.
Wondering if maybe NG removed support for the C series from the NH app. 🤔
The C series is of older generation and NG may be choosing not to support it in the NH app.

Re: Nighthawk AC1900 remote access doesn't connect
Possibly, I wonder if I can roll back my version if they even offer it any longer. That kinda stinks if that is the case. I'll have to build my own port tunnel with other means.

Re: Nighthawk AC1900 remote access doesn't connect
Ya once new versions are posted, old versions are not available.
If you have a PC that is online most of the time, could install something like Teamviewer or a remote desktop app and access the modems web page that way.
Maybe time to upgrade to something newer as well.
Good Luck.
