The Nighthawk CAX30 is advertised as 2.7Gbps download speed. Mu current plan with Xfinity is 1.2Gbps down. What I have come to understand is that Ethernet tops out at 1Gbps, and Wifi is faster? Anyway, my consistent wireless speed tests reveal around 400Mbps down, and around 900Mbps down (ethernet). Why is this advertised as a 2.7 Gbps down modem router? It's a little frustrating to say the least.

The advertised speed is the total speed for wifi for the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands combined. You can get more than 1 Gbps when doing wifi <-> wifi transferts on the 5 GHz band if you have a wifi client that supports it. Ethernet ports are max of 1 Gbps.
