Number of Bonded Channels for CM600
I just acquired a CM600 cable modem, and activated it on Comcast Xfinity. Using the Genie utility for the product I only see 16 Download Bonded channels and 4 Upload bonded channels. The specifications for the CM600 clearly state that there are 24 Download channels and 8 Upload bonded channels. I called up the Netgear Service person, and he was no help on this issue. Is this a Xfinity issue, and how can it be addressed with Xfinity, and whom do I contact ?

Re: Number of Bonded Channels for CM600
Hello SaturnV
You will want to ask for there higher up Tech support they typically have a Level scale like front line customer support is level 1 or tier 1 so try asking for level 3 tech support or maybe there internet specialist support they will be able to look at the cable logs more closely to see what the issue is.

The number of channels is set by the ISP. The number of channels limits the maximum speed and resiliance in the face of interference so more channels may be available than needed for your speed tier -- or not. 16 channels is sufficient for 600Mb, 24 channels will support up to 900Mb (and the 32 ch. max is 1.2Gb). Of course those limits apply to ideal conditions. If you're getting the speed you're paying for then Comcast has likely only provisioned 16 forward channels.
