Re: CM2050V goes offline every few weeks - how to troubleshoot
I purchased the Netgear Nighthawk CM2050V back in July and set it up with Comcast. It worked great for three weeks and then last night it just stopped working - no internet connection. All of the front panel indicators were flashing rapidly. I unplugged the unit multiple times and each time it would come back up with the same indications. I consulted the Netgear manual and it said nothing about the cause of all lights flashing rapidly. I contacted Netgear Technical Support via chat, and told them the symptoms, they took it no further, asking me where/when I purchased it - I told them Amazon. Their response was to request a return through Amazon. Fortunately, it had been within the 30day Amazon return policy, so I'm returning it today. On paper, this seems like the best bang for my buck, but I am hesitant to go through this again. I had (have) a Netgear CM500V that I used for several years without issue, but it doesn't handle my current Comcast Gigabit plan, so I figured an upgrade was in order. Anyone else experienced issues like this?

Please post a copy and paste of the modems connection status and event log page.

Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

When you get the new one, (if you do) check its incoming power levels. I've seen the incoming power level to high and cause them to go bad.
