WHAT IS THIS SECURITY SCAM
I received an e-Mail that looked like it came from NetGear I got thru a support process that looks like Netgear and was told $89.00 to get my router fixed.
What the hell is going on?

I don't know what this "a support process" was, or how it looked.

Netgear would only send a email about a security alert and would tell you to visit the community of contact netgear support they would never ask for money in a email or ask for personal info.
