c7100v Phone Jacks question

Question

Hi all,I'm looking to buy a Netgear c7100v cable modem to use with my Xfinity service because it has phone jacks.&nbsp; I have the c7000v now(no phone jacks).&nbsp; I want to drop my landline carrier and port my number to xfinity.&nbsp; My question is if the two phone jacks can be provisioned to use the same phone line?&nbsp; I only have 1 line and thought if I could use the 2 jacks to hookup my indoor phones.&nbsp; I would use 1 jack to service the main floor of my house and the second jack to service the basement.&nbsp; Each jack would have a phone line(same number).&nbsp; Its sort of like using the 2 jacks as a splitter for one(the same) phone line.&nbsp;Just wondering if its possible.&nbsp;thanks..........&nbsp;PS:&nbsp; I'd rather get a newer DOCSIS Version 3.1 modem with voice and built in WiFi Router but seems Netgear does not offer one.&nbsp; I'm not so sure about Motorola cuz been reading about lots of drop outs and modems returned because of it.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Not fully sure if they are can be or not. I believe the ISP will know this information about the phone jacks. If they can't be you can always just install a phone line splitter in one of the phone ports.&nbsp;

Thanks Furrye38.&nbsp; Yes, thats what I'll have to do.&nbsp; Call them to find out but you know how that goes sometimes.&nbsp;

What I'd do instead of that is go with a voip phone setup like ooma or one of the other ones.&nbsp;
It'll be cheaper than xfinity's setup and will let you continue to use your device or upgrade to a docsis 3.1 modem in the future.&nbsp;

Plemans, Yeah I've thought about that too but I think I am just gonna stick with xfinity because my billing etc is all setup with them.&nbsp; I don't really want to go into another payment contract with another provider.
