  • AP (Access Point) mode requires an Ethernet connection to the main router.  You may be thinking of a range extender, which is different.

  • But it says in the settings of the router that you can wireless connect it to anothet router so that the one connecting to another router can be used as a wireless ap

It would be unusual for the C3000 to have this capability.  Netgear usually does not provide it in their routers.

Also the router doesn't have a Ethernet in port on it...

Are you talking about the C3700?  It has two Ethernet ports.

Yes you can use a range extender to wirelessly connect to your main router.  It won't, however, be as fast as a wired Access Point.

If you want to set up the C3000 as a wired Access Point, then you can use either Ethernet port.

Sorry if my prior answer wasn't clear.  No, you cannot use it as a wireless access point.
