C7000 v2 "Firmware Out of Date" on Nighthawk Ap

I have the C7000v2 WiFi Cable Modem Router and the Nighthawk app on my iPHONE.

When I login to the app on the iPhone, I get the message "Firmware Out of Date" and the app will not run.  I contacted Spectrum (my ISP), and they rebooted the modem saying that would ensure that the firmware was up to date.  The firmware version is V1.02.09.  This is unchanged from before the reboot.  Also it is the current version as listed by Netgear on its website.  So it appears that the firmware is up to date, and the problem is an incorrect indication by the app.

As far as I can tell, everything else is working:  Internet connection, WiFi, and the information on the router webpage all OK.

It is a bug in the app.

Nighthawk app same "firmware not updated" when it ... - NETGEAR Communities

Note the Netgear response:

Just another user with a set of boilerplate macros.

My network DM200 -> R7800 -> GS316 -> PL1000 -> Orbi RBR40 -> Orbi RBS50Y -> RBS40V

Try removing the NH app and then re-install it.

Power OFF the modem for 1 minute then back ON. FW is current and nothing newer for this model modem.

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Nighthawk App product. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Nighthawk App and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this "general router" forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Good Luck.

   Even if the (lame) app were right, and your firmware were obsolete,
what, exactly, do you think that you could do about it?
