CG3000-2STAUS Wifi Repeater

Hello everyone,

I currently have a CG3000-2staus router which has an insufficient wifi range in my house. I do however also have an older CG3000-1STAUS which I would like to utilise as a wifi repeater to extend the range of my wifi. I am just wondering what would be the best way to go about this.

Thank you in advance!

I don’t know if the CG3000 has a repeating function, but if you are able to run an Ethernet cable to the location where you want to place the second CG3000 (or use Powerline products), then you may be able to set up the second router as an Access Point.

      So andy,

if you're working for Netgear, are you telling this client of yours that the CG3000v2-STAUS is not capable of wireless bridging?

I ask because I too have one of these modem/routers and would be interested in the answer.

And adding further to my question - why does the Netgear Website pass off a Quick Install Guide as a User Manual?

      Where is the User Manual?

If you work for Netgear you know this device is much more than a Modem and Router, having telephony connectors, USB connectors etc.

As it is, it seems like a great Modem/Router, I only wish I knew what else I could do with it...

CG3000-2STAUS is Cable Gateway device specifically made for australian ISP with their requested feature set.

there is no capability to do wireless bridge mode on this device.

This device is not supported by Netgear directly since it is a non-retail device and sold directly to australian ISP.
