Cm600 ip provisioning
Hello all,
I saw a few earlier posts on this but didn't see any solutions. I purchased a Cm600 from ebay and it was previously used on Spectrum which set and locked the ip provisioning mode to MDD override, ipv6 only. My carrier, Optimum, only has ipv4 and as such I can't register it on the network. I know that some people have had this issue with Arris modems and if they hook it up to a provider who has ipv6, it will update the firmware so that a factory reset would clear out the ip provisioning settings and allow ipv4 again. I was hoping that might be the case with this modem as well? Is there anything else that could be done?
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I dont think you can clear the MDD Over-ride flag which is set to IPv6. This is the one the key requirements of the COMCAST certification and they make vendors follow it.
It is one of the reason, we recommend not buying used products off eBay.
I believe most of the companies following same behaviour including Arris, Moto, etc.

Yeah it doesn’t seem like I can clear it unfortunately:(.. I even tried it at my parents house, who have cox, which supposedly does use ipv6 and they still couldn’t see the modem, so it may be a bad modem actually:(.
