I have a CG3000Dv1 wireless Cable Gateway, which on the Netgear site, shows as a CG3000-1STAUS with a firmware download of v1.1 and on the genie it says my firmware is v5.5.7, (which is after I restored factory defaults), should I update it to v1.1, or is the model number diference a completely different piece of hardware, so then also different firmware?

Hello prism37s
All the firmware for cable modems are pushed out by the isp once you make a connection with the ISP and reset the modem it should update to the latest firmware on its own.
