Re: *New* Nighthawk CAX80 Release Date?
Got it. Had to open a different browser. Odd one of my other browsers doesn't show the date.
Ok. So next month then.

Between the CAX80 and the C7800 - which has better 'range'?
I'm looking to get one and have found no solf chart or info on or comparison.

Tough to say 100%. Reason why is broadcast strength is set by the fcc. And most routers are already maxing it out. The only reason the CAX80 might have better range is because its a wireless AX devices. They have a little further range than the AC but it wasn't a big difference. If you're needing more range, a wireless extender or moving to a mesh system would be a better plan in my experience.

Re: *New* Nighthawk CAX80 Release Date?
Also the size if your home and placement of the gateway modem will be a factor on range and a factor if extenders are needed.
The EX7700 extender is a good match for the C7800 and the EAX80 is a good match fo the CAX80.

Re: *New* Nighthawk CAX80 Release Date?
Got a question:
I'm using an R8500 router. If I were to buy the CAX80, is it advisable to get a new seperate router or use the CAX80? Any advantage using a seperate router?

Re: *New* Nighthawk CAX80 Release Date?
The CAX is a gateway router and modem thus it already has a built in router and wifi. You can disable the router mode on the CAX and install a external router. Though for the cost of the CAX, i wouldn't see a reason by a expeence modem just to connect a external router.

Great.
I currently have the Xfinity 'X1' and this devices range is sufficent - I just don't want to get one and go 'backwards'! 😄
Thanks!

Best Buy hasn't added it back to their website just yet.
Netgear released it early, it was supposed to come out on July 2nd but it is now in stock on the website: https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/cable-modems-routers/cax80.aspx
Hope BestBuy gets it quickly now! 😄
