Nighthawk Mobile Hotspot... can it do this?
HI Folks!
I'm contemplating purchasing one (or more) of these routers, but before I do, I need to know if I can do the following:
I want to set the router up so it will be passive until there is a power interruption, after which it will switch on in "Mobile" mode. When power/"standard internet" is restored, it will offload cellular contact and return to passive mode.
Scenario: I have a house in a remote location. There's a generator backup, but if wires go down, there is no internet. The house is set up with temperature monitors and cameras, but they are useless if the signal can't get out.
Any ideas?
Thankee!

Re: Nighthawk Mobile Hotspot... can it do this?
HI Warpig
The M1 has a data offload where it will use another modem you may have for internet .It can connect to that other modem via ethernet or wifi. I haven't personally used this feature so I'm not sure if it will automatically switch to cellular if the other system fails
