Attaching USB devices to NetGear DG834Gv3 ADSL router
Hello
I have a NetGear DG3834Gv3 router which is running perfectly well but it lacks a USB port and I would like to connect a USB hub to it so that I can connect to some external USB harddisks I have.
Does anyone know if this is possible if I connect an ethernet/USB adapter to the router and then the USB hub to the adapter?
I would rather not replace the router.
Thanks
Mr Morgan.

I fear that that is the only solution. Or buy an NAS device that has enough USB ports that can also connect to the network.
But they will not work with USB hubs. Not much will, other than a PC. So even if you do buy a new router, don't expect it to act as a hub for all your USB devices.

Thanks for the reply but do you know if it is possible for me to connect an ethernet/USB adapter to the router and then the USB hub to the adapter?

Re: Attaching USB devices to NetGear DG834Gv3 ADSL router
I thought I had answered that.
In my experience, no.
Unless you want to get into stuff that works over the Internet. But even that depends on having things plugged into a PC.
Maybe someone else can offer a more promising answer.
