Firware update for D7800 Causing Reboot

Just recently I had a Firmware Update warning for a Security Update.

Router Firmware V1.0.1.31

Now every so often, either the DSL or the entire Modem turns off and reboots.

It happens up to 3 times every 1-3 days.

Re: Firware update for D7800 Causing Reboot

Hello,

I have now Factory Reset and manually Configed, but now the WiFi keeps cutting in and out, both 2.4GHz and 5Ghz.

The lights turn off, then on.

If it doesn't do that, the whole modem reboots on its own.

I will now downgrade the Firmware to see if it helps.

Cheers.

Re: Firware update for D7800 Causing Reboot

Hello,

Yes I have 3 devices.

However, the Google issue focuses on Network Performance.

My networks turn on and off or the whole Modem reboots.

If Google devices can cause that, then that is a very VERY serious thing.

Everything was fine before this Firmware update, it HAS to be a Firmware issue.

When I have time, I will rollback and see.

Another thing is that my Foxtel and Fetch TV had issues connecting to 5GHz, where it won't pass over the pasphrase and then the Network disappears off the list an the only way to have it return is if I reboot the modem.

This as the type of issue before my reset where on my PC's would suddenly drop out and the Networks disappear from the list until the modem reboots itself or manual reboot.

Re: Firware update for D7800 Causing Reboot

Hey,

Not sure what my internet has to do with it, unless you are referring to the DSL drop out I mentioned that hasn't come back yet.

But to assist, I have NBN VDSL (FTTN) via Optus, Australia.

That other article you posted seems to have talked about breaking TP-Link, which could indicate that my phones might be doing this, especially since I got NBN and did the Firmware update around the time the article was made.

But then again my Foxtel Box and Optus Fetch are not Android... And yet have issues, but then again I wonder if I disable Android phones and then try and see?

To me, despite how serious that Google issue is, I still feel like the issue lies with the Firmware.

But hey, I don't know that.

So I guess it comes down to, do I wait for Google Fix and see? Or do I downgrade and see?

Re: Firware update for D7800 Causing Reboot

Hey,

I'm currently testing Google issue as the cause.

Getting good samples to ensure I get the correct cause.

It is especially required to do multiple tests coz atm, it looked like Google, then not, but then yes.

Hopefully I can confirm soon.
