Max number of connected wifi clients
Hi.
Is there a resource anywhere that tells us the max number of wifi connections on home routers?
I am using a DGN1000-SP router in a project but I cannot find this information in the literature.
Cheers,
Jim

Re: Max number of connected wifi clients
thats a pretty old device. An old N150 device. Its not going to support much.
the newer ones have variable amounts.
How many WiFi client devices can my NETGEAR router support? - NETGEAR Support
but that's for Wifi 5/6 routers.
Thats an old base model Wireless N device.
I wouldn't be putting to much on there.
what are you trying to do with it?

Here's a local answer:
How many clients can you connect wirelessly to a NETGEAR router? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
Sadly, the DGN1000 ADSL modem/router, from 2010 and with no 5 GHz wifi, predates that.

Re: Max number of connected wifi clients
Thanks for that - I am programming a project that sends UDP messages to a bunch (30+) of ESP32s.
I tried using a single ESP32 as an access point and a meshed network topology, but it doesnt have enough power or RAM or something 🙂
So now I am using a single device as client hard wired to the router, and using the router to send the broadcast UDP packets to the connected servers.
