Not receiving expected downloads speeds via D7800 (HFC)
Morning. Changed ISP's (Telstra to iinet) and have configured the D7800 to the required ISP settings (I believe). Just trying to get an idea as to why the internet bandwith nominated in QoS is what I should be expecting but, when directly connected to the D7800 I am only experiencing circa 100mpbs. QoS is disabled in a normal setting.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Not receiving expected downloads speeds via D7800 (HFC)
Seem to get the required speeds when the D7800 is connected to a spare telstra gateway I have. Must be a D7800 issue. Not sure how to access the D7800 through the web browser though. 192.168.1.1 won't work and 198.168.0.1 get me access to the gateway.

The D7800 is a modem/router. You don't say what the gateway is, but that sound like a second router.
Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local problems with address on your network. Among other things, the other router can misdirect traffic to addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual default IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
This explains some of the other drawbacks.

Depending on what you want to do, and which device is your modem, you could put the D7800 into modem only mode with the Telstra as the router. Or, if it has that option, put the Telstra into AP mode, wired to the D7800.

Re: Not receiving expected downloads speeds via D7800 (HFC)
Much appreciated Michael. It seems the D7800 WAN is limited in its speed capacities from what I can tell. Ultimately, I was wanting to use the Telstra 'gateway' as the modem (in bridge mode) and the D7800 as the router but, this setup still requires the WAN port on the D7800 to be utlised and, hence the speed issue.
...The gateway I something I had laying around and was just seeing if I could get some extra life out of the D7800 as it reaches its EOL.
I might look at getting a new mesh system as an upgrade. Currently the D7800 is connected to another D7800 in bridge as well as another netgear extender to cover some dead spaces. The setup is getting too messy and convoluted. Welcome to any ideas on a good mesh setup!
Regards. Nicholas.
