Which N600? That is not a model number. Netgear has a dozen or so modems, routers and wifi widgets that have the N600 standard.
You will find the model number on a label on the device.

You should not need it, but there is a manual for your device somewhere at the end of this link:

There is also a more useful Quick Start guide. Where do things go wrong for you? What do the lights look like when you plug BT's wire into the DSL port on the modem/router? The manual probably has a section that lets you work out what the lights should look like.
Remember that you don't need a password to access BT's internet service. Just feed your BT email address into the username slot.
