How to change or set up password on my N600 (WNDR3400) Router so it would be "Secured WiFi Network"?

I have not been using this router for many years. I just reset the router. I want it to be a secure WiFi Network for myself, the "routernetgear.net" or "192.168.1.1" does not lead me to the right page. Please Help!!!

   "routerlogin.net"?

Define "the right page".  Now that we (almost) know what does _not_
happen, perhaps you might reveal what _does_ happen.  As usual, showing
actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error messages, LED
indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or
interpretations.

Plain WNDR3400[v1], or WNDR3400v2, or WNDR3400v3?  Look for "Model"
on the product label.  Connected to what?

Pending a better problem description, you might visit

http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.  Look for a
topic like "Manually Configuring Your Wireless Settings"?
