Is my refurbed WNDR3700-100NAR v1 or v2?
Bought it from NewEgg, so I presume it's legit. Came in a cardboard box with some generic papers from Netgear.
There's no serial number on the unit, and no apparent TA number anywhere.
If it's v1, why does it automatically only find firmware V1.0.7.98NA instead of V1.0.16.98.
Thanks,
Ron

Ron, when did you buy this unit? I bought a 3700 from the Egg about a year ago. When I first discovered I had a v1 even though v2 was out and shipping, I was annoyed. Then I started to read this forum, and now I'm happy that I got a V1.
I know that there are lots and lots of people on this forum who have major agonies with their 3700. Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe I'm too stupid to see that I have problems, but I don't think I have any problems. Other than the built-in design limitations, of course.

Re: Is my refurbed WNDR3700-100NAR v1 or v2?
As to why the 3700 only finds firmware V1.0.7.98NA instead of V1.0.16.98: I also have a 3700V1 and I have found that the automatic firmware update is very unreliable. It is hit or miss whether or not it finds the latest firmware. I have always updated manually because of this. Also, the previous poster is correct in that most here think that the V1 was the best of the 3700 series.

And, as the "previous poster," I will add that I am not about to upgrade my firmware until I have a solid reason. Too many people with too many firmware issues. 😞
