My router is working but I cannot get to it with browser or Genie.

I am using the router both wired and WiFi with Windows and Android devices. When I try to access the router through a browser or genie, I get an error message. Everything seems to be working except that I cannot access my USB connected drive or get access to the router. Please help.

Are you talking about accessing router  config page? What is the error message? Tried clearing the browser cache? Tried different

brower? Can you pung the router from your device?

In addition to the other questions, which genie? (Desktop app, web interface, Android/iThing App?)

Which "error message"? There are many.

Re: My router is working but I cannot get to it with browser or Genie.

Yes I am trying to access the config page. The error message from my browser is "This page can't be displayed."

I cannot Ping from my PC. I have tried several browsers. None work.

When I try to access from Genie (on PC or Android), The Router Login screen never allows the OK button. In Genie on PC, when I try to access ReadyShare, I get error "NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported." Genie used to work.

All my wired and WiFi connections work fine, but I can't login to the router.

Thanks for your help.

Re: My router is working but I cannot get to it with browser or Genie.

What address are you using to get the browser to reach your Netgear router?

The usual destinations are:

http://www.routerlogin.com/

and

http://www.routerlogin.net

If they don't work, then the IP address might be an option. Here the usual suspects are:

http://192.168.0.1

or

http://192.168.1.1

If none of these work, then the first thing to try is to reset the device to the factory setting.

Thanks. I have already tried all of those options. None work. I can't get the router's ID from the OS either. The system won't display it. I will just have to continue as I am without the USB drive on my network because I can't afford the downtime or risk of resetting the router.

Thanks anyway.

What about ipconfig? (Run it from a CMD prompt in Windows.)

That should show you the IP address of your Default Gateway.

Feed that into your browser.

Have you investigated the Kapersky bug?

I tried ipconfig. It shows the Default Gateway as - :: (two colons) - not helpful. I am not using Kaspersky. Is there any problem reported with Norton?

Not that I know of.

Kaspersky doesn't screw up the IP address like that. It just won't let you get there.

I suspect something of a network nature that is beyond your Netgear device.
