R6300v2 Router not working in Bridge Mode

I have a R6300v2 router that was previously
used as the "Cable modem to wireless device" at my home.
My goal is to use it as part of a wireless bridge between
my PC and the new Router, a FIOS G1100.
I have factory reset the 6300 by the red button on the back.

I followed the instructions at
https://kb.netgear.com/20831/How-to-set-up-Bridge-mode-on-R6300-R6250-R6200 .
After logging in via routerlogin.net and entering a
new password and security questions, I went down to the advanced
wireless, entered the SSID/password/5GHz info, and applied it.
The router booted, and I took it over to my PC, and connected the cable
from the ethernet LAN port on the 6300 to my PC's ethernet port.
When I check available networks, I see the ethernet port showing up as
Unidentified network, No Internet. What else do I have to do to use the
6300 as a wireless bridge to the FIOS G1100 router?
Other devices can connect to the G1100, and so can my PC when using the
onboard wireless, but the onboard is flaky and too weak to work well.

   Firmware version?

   Plausible.

   Normally, I'd say nothing.

Does the main router see the R6300v2-as-bridge (or your PC) as a
connected device?  Does the PC get valid IP parameters (address,
gateway, ...) via DHCP?

Re: R6300v2 Router not working in Bridge Mode

My firmware is at  V1.0.4.36_10.0.93.

The G1100 doesn't see the R6300 at all.

I guess I need to know if I'm hooking things up properly.

The 6300 ethernet port #1 has been connected to my PC's ethernet LAN connector.

I reset the 6300 and then my browser comes up to the login for the 6300.  I enter the new password, then select the "set it up myself manually" option.  I follow the steps in the web page i had mentioned.  At step 14 the 6300 starts the reboot with the progress meter progressing until the 6300 finishes the reboot.  At that point I keep the cable connected between the 6300 LAN port 1 and the PC.  The G1100 doesn't see it, and the PC has no internet connection, or newly assigned IP address.

Re: R6300v2 Router not working in Bridge Mode

For what it's worth, I was able to get  it to work.  The main FIOS router had a SSID of FIOS-XXXX.  I had an extender set up (an EX7000 AC1900), and reconfigured it to use a different name than the Fios router, and I did not use a hyphen in the name.  When I connected to that, it worked.  I know that hyphens are allowable, but have seen some posts about issues with some setups using it.  It could also be because it was using the extender to connect to instead of the FIOS router.  either way, I hope that helps anyone who sees this.
