WNDR4500 Internet Speed Issues

I have the Ultimate Internet service from Time Warner Cable that provides speeds of 50 Mbps. I am using the supplied Motorola SBG6580 SURFboard® eXtreme Wireless Cable Modem. To this I have the WNDR 4500 connected to provide wireless networking to my apartment.

When I first got the service all the speed test showed the 50 Mbps speed; however, in the past month or so the speed has dropped to around 20 Mbps on the wireless. When I connect directly to the modem or the router using the LAN I am able to consistently get the 50 Mbps internet speed.

I am at a loss as to what could have changed that is causing my internet speed to be so degraded when connected to the router via wireless.

I am using the 5 GHZ channel and my wireless card shows 450 Mbps connection.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: WNDR4500 Internet Speed Issues

Be sure you are using the latest firmware and try doing a hard reset and reconfigure on the router.

May I know what is the exact speed that you are getting when connected to the 5ghz? Are you also experiencing the same problem using a different wireless computer?

Try disabling the WMM setings on QoS Setup.
