What extender is this? AC1900 is not a reliable guide to model number. Many devices come with an AC tag, but it is essentially a label that Netgear, and other brands, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.
Look at the label on the device for the model number.
What does "won’t take password" mean? Password from what? Is this during the setup process or when you are trying to use the extender's wifi?
What are you doing and where does it go wrong?
You have posted this message in the Genie section of this community. Does that mean that you are trying to use one of the various genies to set up this device? I can't see any extenders that work with the genie app.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
WiFi Range Extenders & Nighthawk Mesh - NETGEAR Communities
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Re: Can’t get my WiFi extender AC1900 to take password says password incorrect
it won't take password.
Which one?
The one to log into the router?
the password when you try to connect with wifi after setup?
which password are you talking about here?
And how did you set it up? WPS? Installation assistant? The app?
