Issue with Genie - Parental control - DNS
Hi,
I am trying to use the partental control function through Netgear genie but I am having some issues. I got a message saying that the device appearst o be registered with another DNS acocunt. However, OpenDNS has confirmed that this is not the case so I don't know how to solve it. Can anyone help? Please find email trail below for further information. Thanks!
Unfortunately that MAC address (84:1B:5E:D8:D8:20) was not found in our system.
Can you attempt to logon to the router directly.
It appears an update to the Genie software may be causing problems.
If you can logon to the router directly that the problem is with the Genie application which is a NetGear application. If you encounter any problems with the Genie application you will need to contact Netgear's support team at https://www.netgear.com/support/.
You may be able to use the older LPC Management Utility from the links below on NETGEAR devices;
Mac LPC Manager: ftp://downloads.netgear.com/parentalcontrols/mac/LPCManager_v1.0.4.dmg
Mac User Utility: ftp://downloads.netgear.com/parentalcontrols/LPCUserUtility.dmg
Windows User Utility and LPC Manager: http://opendns.com/downloads and download the "NETGEARManagementUtility-2.1.6-install" entry
